Privacy Policy
USE, COLLECTION, AND RETENTION OF CUSTOMER INFORMATION
Customer information is at the center of The Farmers State Bank’s (FSB) ability to provide superior service to customers. FSB will use the information customers provide to deliver requested services, to administer accounts and to comply with various State and Federal laws and regulations. FSB will, to the extent allowed by law, use the information to better understand customer’s financial needs to advise customers of other opportunities and services available from FSB.
Existing Customers: FSB collects and maintains information to serve customers and administer the customer relationship. The types of information FSB collects may include: information provided on applications or forms; information received from third parties such as credit bureaus or similar reporting agencies; and information from customer relationships with FSB.
Former Customers: FSB may use information collected from former customers in the past to advise them of opportunities to establish a banking relationship with FSB again. This information is used by FSB and is subject to all controls outlined in this Privacy Policy.
Information Confidentiality and Security
FSB permits only authorized associates, who are trained in the proper handling of customer information, to have access to such information and only for legitimate business needs. All FSB associates are required to follow our Customer Information Policy, which emphasizes the responsibility of each associate with regard to customer information.
FSB safeguards information according to established security standards and procedures, and continuously reviews and adopts new procedures and technology to maintain and update those standards.
Restriction of Disclosure of Customer Information
With Affiliated Companies: FSB has no affiliated companies.
With non-affiliated Third Parties: FSB shares certain customer information with outside vendors who provide services required to facilitate and service customer accounts as requested by customers and as permitted by law. FSB ensures that all outside vendors used for services adhere to the same strict standards of confidentiality as FSB and are not permitted to reuse or sell customer information provided by FSB for any reason. FSB does not disclose customer information to outside companies for the purpose of marketing non-FSB products or services.
FSB may be legally required to release certain customer information in response to judicial processes such as subpoenas, fraud investigations, court orders, discovery requests or to comply with requests for information from government agencies in accordance with the federal or state banking laws and regulations.
Disclosure of FSB’s Privacy Commitment to Customers
FSB values its customer relationships and wants its customers to understand how their non-public personal information is used. In an effort to maintain a high standard of awareness to this commitment and in accordance with governing law, FSB will disclose to all customers, FSB’s Privacy Disclosure Statement once a year. FSB shall make the Privacy Disclosure Statement available to customers upon request at any time.
